We recently completed the development of our own content management system called Capitan. The system has been used on a number our web projects (this one included) with excellent results.

Capitan provides a core functionality set allowing you to add/remove/edit pages, build unlimited levels of navigation, add meta data to pages, create a contacts database, create mailing lists, create 'member only' sections, create notices for other administrators, upload files, backup your website, and more (deep breath)... And of course, Capitan produces search engine friendly, accessible, and valid output.

In addition to the core functionality, we are continually developing a range of modules which can plug straight into the system to provide you with further control. These briefly include...

'News Manager' allows you to easily manage and categorise news feeds with automatic RSS outputs.

'Member Pages' allows you to create password protected user pages from which the user can download private files or view messages.

'Customer Feedback' allows you to create customer surveys and view average and individual results.

'File Downloader' allows you to upload files to your pages for users to download - access levels can be set for public or private availability.
